I used to always wonder if things would go anywhere. Now I understand things will go where you are willing to take them. I’ve always had a sense of this indirectly but it feels like something you hear all the time yet aren’t sure if it works. It does. If you want something to happen, you must be willing to put in the work to make it happen. Sometimes we confuse work with hard work. There is a difference between being busy and being productive, you could spend 10 hours at work without having completed anything at all. Think about it, how much of your day is spent doing the actual work? Doing work that is relevant to our mission? If you take a cell phone and check social media regularly, you might want to check how much of your energy is spent on distractions. We confuse dreams with distractions and when things don’t work out, we sit and wonder why? The only reason things don’t happen is if we fail to make them happen and the only way you can fail is by not trying at all. I want you to think of one thing you want, you want a lot of things? Great, let’s focus on one thing for this moment. Have a large vision and many working parts but what is the tangible thing that you can do today? Say you want to travel the world and write on shows that talk about food, okay- is there something you can do today? Can you cook? Can you write ingredients? Can you start a blog? Can you watch cooking shows and review them? Can you find books from chefs and start a book club? The answer to all of those is YES! Even if you don’t know, you can learn. The only thing that will ever stop you from starting is yourself. One of the biggest mistakes we make is thinking that 1) everything must happen today and 2) it must happen a certain way. It will happen, you may not know how but if you put the energy and work towards what it is YOU believe it, it will start to manifest itself and when it does focus on the work- when you focus too much attention on ‘wow I’m doing it’ you can fall off the horse, stay focused on the task at hand, stay gracious and always put in the extra blog post, the extra book, the extra hour to make it happen. Only you can make the things you want to happen happen. Along the way you’ll meet people who will help you but no one will hand you anything, do your best at everything you do and the best will be drawn to you. Keep doing it and you’re bound to become the best version of yourself, don’t aim to be perfect, aim to feel whole, completed and happy.

Focus on progress not perfection.

You got this,
Xox,

Cynthia

  1. I love all your posts. They are quite nice and you have a smooth writing style πŸ™‚

I hope you don’t mind me giving this tiny suggestion: If you could separate your text into paragraphs or split them somehow so that it is not all crammed together, it would be easier to read on WordPress. πŸ™‚
